Supplier Quality Lead 7.45am-4.45pm Monday to Thursday & 7.45am - 12.45pm on Friday Permanent role Portsmouth Position purpose To lead the Supplier Quality team in assurance of supplier product quality and the Quality Technician team in support of internal quality. Responsible for initiating the Defective Material Report (DMR) in case of supplier non-conformance, internal 8D analysis/support, manage scrap, sorting and rework of supplier parts, management of Customer firewalls, DMR management and reporting, process audits in relation to supplier non-conformance concerns, QCDDMSES/PPM reporting, annual validation and management of running changes on supplier parts. Key candidate background/Knowledge needed: Certified Quality Engineer Lead RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) Continues Improvement PPAP (Product Part Approval Process) Statistical Process Control Quality Planning and Management FMEA/Control Plan Metrology or Inspection Methods and Equipment Measurement Analysis 8D Problem Solving Methodology People Management experience Responsibilities: Management and development of the Supplier Quality team/Quality Technicians. Interact with Manufacturing and Quality and supplier personnel to review supplier related quality issues. Resolve Supplier Quality concerns on current production parts. Report defective materials to supply base. Organise separation and containment of supplier suspect stock. Assure disposition of supplier scrap as defined by the procedure. Lead the supplier through the problem-solving process, assuring root causes are identified and permanent corrective actions are implemented. Verification of supplier corrective actions. Follow and report on status of corrective actions. With support from the SDE Team, arrange audits of suppliers in relation to quality Prepare and present supplier concerns for internal and external reviews. Preparation and presentation of reports as required by Management in relation to supplier activities. Monthly reporting for supplier performance reporting (GSPS) (QCDDMSES). Follow Supplier PPAP timing for current production parts engineering changes. Review and approval of supplier PPAPs for current production part engineering Comply with the Health & Safety Policy and observe all the safety rules to ensure your personnel safety and the safety of others. Ensure that you comply and adopt the CANDO(5S) programme regarding the organisation of your work environment. Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Quality Manager
