Summary

The objective of the Merchandising Manager is the operational and HR management of demand planning for standard assortment and promotional products. The role is responsible for stock availability optimization and projects in the Regional Distribution Centers. This Manager is aligned with one of the HQ Supply Chain sub-departments: Stock Management, Promotion Management & Merchandising.

This is a Hybrid Temporary role for 90 Days based out of Lidl US HQ in Arlington, VA

What You'll Do
Monitor and report core KPIs (ex. missing items, write offs) for all product groups
Ensure the implementation of freshness management (ex. baking plan, fruit & vegetables) practices in the organization
Optimize installation plans and layouts through the current layout principles and merchandising related KPIs
Coordinate and control information to and from the Regional Distribution Centers (RDCs)
Create communication channel for regional challenges and develop solutions
Monitor and adhere to deadlines related to promotional activities
Manage external events (ex. recalls, supplier failures, quality issues)
Define clear goals and objectives for teams on a regular basis
Manage employees within the context of the company principles
Ensure compliance with internal directives and standards
Regularly visit stores and RDCs
Monitor quality of RDC execution of strategy
Perform other duties as assigned
What You'll Need

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to organize data, analyze data and spot trends
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Demand planning and forecast experience
• Knowledge of retail operations
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• Bachelor's degree
• 3+ years of experience in related field
• In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
• Driver's license
Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• Management experience
• Proven KPI management
• German Language Skills - Preferred
Physical Job Requirements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, including the store(s), distribution center(s), warehouse(s), and/or corporate office(s) with the capability to switch job functions/roles quickly
• Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
• Ability to maneuver cases of product (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to operate machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists
• Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
• Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the time
Travel Requirements
• This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
• Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
