Mental Health Teaching Assistant - HAMPSHIRE Great for Psychology/Counselling/Criminology Graduates! ASAP Start Social, Emotional and Mental Health/Complex Needs Primary Phase Are you based in Hampshire? Are you interested in supporting children with Mental Health issues? Would you like to build your experience working with Complex Needs and work alongside trained teachers and support staff? Academics recruit for a number of specialist school's for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs, Special Educational needs and other associated needs based in Hampshire. Currently there is a need for bright and enthusiastic Graduates to step up as Teaching Assistants, putting their skills to use support children with behaviour and mental health issues. Graduates who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology would be great for this but candidates with relevant experience will also be considered! The schools we work with are mostly within a good distance from public transport, are accessible by car and have space for parking. Students in SEMH/SEN Environments may have developmental trauma, emotional needs and behavioural challenges so your role will be supporting each individual's wellbeing and personal development. This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for the successful mental health assistant to work alongside the educational professionals based on-site at the schools. You will have the opportunity to learn hands on from the teachers and pastoral support within the school, if you are willing then you can gain invaluable experience! This is a great opportunity for an aspiring educational specialist or therapeutic support worker or SEN teacher. SEN Teaching Assistant Mental Health Assistant Social and Emotional Mental Health Support ASAP Start Hampshire £65-£80 per day Full-time Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4pm Ideal for Psychology/Counselling GraduatesYou will need knowledge of, or be open minded in understanding their complex needs and is up for a challenge. Suitable experience can include working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting, even on a personal level such as with family.
