About the roleThis role intends to serve as the first foot in the door of a science industry career, while obtaining an invaluable insight into what types of roles drive a successful, cutting-edge biotech company. At Triplebar, we value ownership of results rather than simple completion of tasks. You will have ownership and influence in the following:
- Assisting the Lab Manager in overseeing everything to do with laboratory operations
- Cultivating safe laboratory practices and proper sterile technique
- Maintaining and cleaning glass- and plastic-ware with the Operations department
- Preparing media and buffers for sterile application
- Tracking, receiving, and stocking of reagents and consumables
- Working with science and engineering teams to develop optimal workflows
- Supporting scientists in pipetting, measuring, and timed assay procedures
- Contributing to the design and logistics of any new spaces and lab equipment
About you - Interest in working in a biotechnology R&D lab
- High organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface at all levels of professionalism
- Ability to prioritize multiple requests, work in a fast-paced environment, and be responsive to employee requests/service issues
- Proactive approach to identifying problems and problem-solving independently and collaboratively
- Capable of working hands-on with careful precision or physical stamina (30-60 minutes at a time) as tasks require
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for 2 hours at a time
Nice-to-have (but not required) - Experience with Quartzy, Benchling, and/or other laboratory software
- Experience doing R&D experiments at the bench
- Familiarity with laboratory operation workflows, such as autoclaving, SDSs, biohazardous waste
- Knowledge of simple dilution calculations
- Experience working with sterile technique
- Experience preparing buffers and media
- Conceptual understanding of molecular biology
The annual base pay range for this position is anticipated to be $35,000 - $55,000 however the base pay offered may vary depending on location, market, job related knowledge, skills and experience.
