DMU is a destination of choice for many disabled students, reflected in the fact that it has one of the largest populations of disabled students in the country. Our DSA funded support service has built on our strengths as an inclusive university and we are recruiting inspirational and dynamic staff to work within our Disability team.


We are seeking to appoint a candidate to provide high quality administrative support and assistance for the established Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) funded and Non-medical Helper (NMH) services at the University. As an Assistant Administrator you will work with the Non-Medical Help (NMH) staff to follow formal policies for DSA and other internal/external NMH funding agencies.

You will be responsible for:

  • The administration of DSA funding
  • Creating and maintaining up to date records for students on university systems
  • Providing administrative support to current projects within the disability and wider student welfare teams. You will
  • Developing positive relationships with teams within and external to the university
  • Upholding our excellent reputation for supporting disabled students.

The role is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent basis and can be completed on a hybrid basis.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have recent and relevant experience of administration,
  • Ideally have experience in the Higher Education environment.
  • Be proactive and flexible in your approach
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have the ability to prioritise your workload
